Its main hall is the second largest wooden structure in Japan and has been designated as a “National Treasure of Japan”.
This temple houses 3 Zao Gongen statues, over 7 meters tall. These rare blue-skinned guardian deities, unique to Shugendo religion, are hidden from public view but revealed during spring. If we are lucky we may be able to see them!

(1) While we carefully plan our spring tour dates to coincide with peak blooming seasons, flower timing can vary due to weather conditions and other natural factors.
(2) This tour requires moderate physical condition and is not suitable for pregnant women or those using wheelchairs/strollers. Bags or pets should not be brought on this tour. You can leave your bags at the hotel or in lockers at the train stations.
(3) This tour includes light hiking in the mountain. Participants must wear confortable shoes and be prepared to hike uneven surfaces, steps and inclines.
(4) We depart at the scheduled time, so please arrive punctually.
(5) End times are approximate. Please allow buffer time for subsequent commitments.
(6) The order of stops may vary depending on route conditions or congestion at destinations.
If any locations are closed, we will visit an alternative location instead. No refunds will be provided in this case.
(7) The tour will continue in light rain, so please bring rain jackets and/or umbrellas (you find it at convenience stores).
