There are east and west ticket gates at Kintetsu Namba Station. Please be sure to be on the east side.

(2) Cherry Blossom Path

Our Uda Cherry blossom tour starts here! Along the Uda River, a cherry blossom-lined path stretches approximately 2.5 km. With few buildings nearby, the blossoms stand out beautifully against the green backdrop of the mountains, forests and farmland.

(3) Tenyakuji Temple

The weeping cherry tree within the temple grounds is said to be 350 years old. Standing on a hill overlooking the townscape of Ouda, it also offers a splendid view.

(4) The cherry blossom of the north-facing Jizo statue

A secret cherry blossom spot guarded by a small shrine. Generally most Jizou statues face south, but this one is a rare one because it is facing north. This local guardian deity is believed to grant children to families and protect them against misfortune.

(5) Matabei Zakura (300-year-old cherry tree)

The greatest star of our Cherry Blossom Tour! A magnificent weeping cherry tree said to be 300 years old.
Back in the Warring States period of Japan, there was a prominent warlord called Goto Matabei, who fled to this area, and built a residence for his family here. Because this Cherry tree is within the area where the Goto family used to be, people call the tree affectionately “Matabei Zakura”.

(6) Foot Bath

After so much exercise, this is the best place to soothe our tired feet.
At the shops nearby you can find products made with local agricultural produce, such as Uda-grown blueberries.

(7) Nostalgic Townscape: Strolling Through the Traditional Houses of Uda Matsuyama

The nostalgic scenery makes us feel like we have travelled back in time to ancient Japan.
This area flourished as the castle town and it has been recently designated as Traditional building preservation district.
